Non-Custodial Platform Disclosure
Capandex is a non-custodial trading automation tool. This document explains what that means, what the platform does and does not do, and the responsibilities that rest with you as the user.
What Non-Custodial Means
Capandex does not hold, store, manage, or have access to your funds at any time. The platform never takes custody of your cryptocurrency, fiat currency, or any other financial assets.
When you connect an exchange account to Capandex through API keys, those keys are used exclusively to send trade instructions to your exchange on your behalf. Your funds remain on your exchange account at all times. Capandex cannot withdraw, transfer, or move your funds.
You retain full control over your assets. You can revoke API access at any time by deleting your keys from Capandex or by revoking them directly on your exchange.
Capandex Is a Tool, Not a Financial Service
Capandex provides a visual interface for building, testing, and deploying automated trading strategies. It is a software tool. It is not an exchange, broker, custodian, investment advisor, or financial institution.
The platform does not:
- Hold or custody any user funds or assets
- Provide investment advice or trading recommendations
- Guarantee any profit, return, or specific trading outcome
- Manage your portfolio or make trading decisions on your behalf
- Act as an intermediary in any financial transaction
No Guaranteed Profit or Returns
IMPORTANT: Read this section carefully.
Capandex does not guarantee any profit, return, or financial outcome. Cryptocurrency trading carries significant risk, including the potential loss of your entire investment.
Trading engines built on this platform are created, configured, and operated by users. The platform executes the logic you define in your flows. If your strategy logic produces losses, the platform is not responsible for those losses.
Past performance of any strategy, whether observed through backtesting or paper trading, does not guarantee future results. Market conditions change, and strategies that performed well in historical data may produce losses in live markets.
Engine Ownership and Responsibility
Every trading engine on Capandex is created and owned by the user who built it. You are solely responsible for:
- The design and logic of your trading flows
- The configuration of all node parameters
- The decision to run an engine in paper or live mode
- Monitoring engine activity and performance
- All financial outcomes resulting from your engine's execution
- Managing risk parameters including stop losses and position sizes
Capandex provides the tools to build and run engines. The decisions encoded in those engines, and the consequences of those decisions, belong entirely to the user.
API Key Handling
Exchange API keys stored on Capandex are encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption at rest. Keys are used solely to relay trade instructions to your exchange. We strongly recommend:
- Configuring API keys with trade-only permissions (no withdrawal access)
- Restricting API keys to specific IP addresses where supported by your exchange
- Regularly reviewing and rotating your API keys
You can delete your stored API keys at any time from your account settings. Deletion is permanent and immediate.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Capandex shall not be liable for any trading losses, financial damages, or other harm arising from the use of the platform. This includes but is not limited to:
- Losses from strategies designed, tested, or deployed by users
- Exchange downtime, API failures, or order execution issues on third-party exchanges
- Market volatility, liquidity events, or adverse price movements
- Platform downtime or service interruptions
By using Capandex, you acknowledge that you understand and accept these risks. For the full legal terms, see the Terms of Service.
